I’m delighted that my Masterclass in Music, Technology, Creativity and Entrepreneurship features in the new Break In Case of Emergency ‘Survival Kit’ guide for independent musicians and labels.

It was a very lively and hands on session where we worked with AI and other technologies to create new work, as well as discuss the merits, opportunities, and challenges of new technologies in music.

The guide features highlights from the Break event – a two-week hybrid bootcamp put on by the inspiring Aveiro Arts House in Aveiro Portugal, with attendees joining the workshops, discussions, and performances in person and online. It focused on the exchange of practical skills to help with some of the most pressing things facing people in the independent music industry.

The guide also includes the Roundtable on Technological Innovation & Disruption in the Music Industry that I took part in with Andrew Dubber (MTF Labs), and Miguel Carvalhais (Crónica), moderated by Tiago Abelha (Viral Agenda).

Further leading organisations that have contributed include Bandcamp, The Wire, Ninja Tune, !K7, Amplify and Tailored Communication – addressing subjects such as release planning, distribution, technology, rights management, marketing and PR.

You can get the Survival Kit and access to videos from the conference, by subscribing to the Break Newsletter. The event and guide are supported by the European Union, Music Moves Europe, Musicaire, Teatro Aveirense, and Aveiro Câmara Municipal.
